Chicago, IL (April 12, 2023) - Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce the arrival of Johner T. (J.T.) Wilson III as a Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice.

J.T. is a prominent trial lawyer who helps his clients manage risks and minimize financial exposure in a panoply of employment-related issues in jurisdictions across the country. He joins EBG from Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, where he was a Member of the Board of Directors and led the labor and employment team in its Chicago office.

With over two decades of litigation experience, J.T. represents private and public companies of various sizes, from startups to the Fortune 500, in employment disputes involving the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Federal Employers' Liability Act, and wage and hour laws, among others. As lead trial counsel, he has practiced before U.S. district courts, the circuit courts of Illinois and various other states, and federal and state administrative agencies across the nation. J.T. also provides practical advice and counseling on a variety of complex business operations and employment initiatives, as well as cybersecurity and data privacy matters.

“J.T. is not only a talented trial lawyer but a leader in the Chicago community,” said David W. Garland, Chair of the firm’s national Employment, Labor & Workforce Management Steering Committee. “This background makes J.T. an excellent fit for our Chicago office, and our colleagues in the practice nationwide.”

In addition, J.T. conducts internal investigations into alleged claims of misconduct in the workplace and provides trainings, workshops, and lectures on employment-related topics.

“EBG’s established bench of litigators and skilled, passionate attorneys are one of the many reasons I join the firm today,” said J.T. “I look forward to collaborating alongside my talented new colleagues with a platform that not only embraces my individual strengths but also values teamwork and innovation above all.”

A Chicago native and champion for diversity, J.T. is a Chicago Fellows Alumni Co-City Lead of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and has been honored by Crain's Chicago Business as a Notable Minority in Accounting, Consulting & Law. A former college athlete, J.T. is a member of the University of Illinois Chicago Chancellor’s Athletics Advisory Committee. Outside the office, he is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the International Association of Defense Counsel, the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel’s Executive Committee, and the National Employment Law Council.

“J.T. is a veteran trial lawyer with a deep commitment to community service,” said Peter A. Steinmeyer, Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice and Managing Partner of EBG’s Chicago office. “We are delighted to have him at EBG and value the immediate impact he’ll have on our team.”

J.T. joins EBG during a time of growth for the Chicago office, arriving on the heels of the experienced health care attorney Jayme R. Matchinski. EBG’s Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice continues to recruit across 18 offices nationwide.
