Learn more about Tipping the Scales

Washington, DC (November 6, 2020)Epstein Becker Green ("EBG") is proud to announce that it has received the “Tipping the Scales” award for the second year in a row, presented by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance (the "Alliance"), in recognition of our commitment to advancing women in the legal profession.

Since 2012, the Alliance has generated the New Partner Report, a yearly compilation and examination of the nation’s largest and top-grossing law firms, to uncover trends in the percentage of women promoted to partnership each year.

For their 2020 study, the Alliance researched 137 law firms and found that EBG is one of only 46 firms to have promoted 50% or more women to partner in the most recent class.

“Women’s promotion has been ingrained in EBG’s DNA since our founding. We’ve proven our commitment by recruiting women in high numbers and promoting them to our partner class at a more than 50% rate year over year,” said Carrie Valiant, Chair of the firm’s Diversity & Professional Committee.

The firm’s Women’s Initiative and other training resources, such as the Associate Shadowing Program, provide professional support, mentorship, and coaching to help our women attorneys advance to partner and other firm leadership roles. At EBG, we celebrate and emphasize gender diversity within the firm as part of our Core Values.

EBG was recognized at the Alliance’s annual conference, Moments of Impact: Transforming Organizational Culture, on November 5, 2020.
