Boston, MA (August 23, 2021) – Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that Kate Rigby has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice. Kate joins the Boston office from Ogletree Deakins, where she was co-chair of the firm’s Life Sciences Practice Group.
Kate brings more than 16 years of labor and employment experience within the life sciences industry, among others, and brings deep knowledge of the unique employment issues and disputes that can arise within these specific industries.
She has counseled clients on a broad spectrum of issues, including complaint management, and conducts investigations and employee and management training. Kate is also a highly experienced counselor in all areas of human resources, including discipline and termination, hiring, accommodation of disabilities and leaves of absence, EEO complaints, employee agreements and restrictive covenants, employee handbooks and company policies, and compliance with federal and state employment laws.
“Life sciences companies frequently confront employment law issues as they emerge from start-up to growing enterprises, and I have enjoyed helping them through that evolution,” said Kate. “I’m thrilled to join a firm with not only a deep bench of skilled employment attorneys but one that represents life sciences companies throughout the United States, particularly in the Boston area.”
“Kate’s focus on employment issues in the life sciences industry makes her a perfect fit for EBG given our two founding and core practices are Health Care & Life Sciences and Employment, Labor & Workforce Management,” said David W. Garland, Chair of the firm’s National Employment, Labor & Workforce Management Steering Committee. “Kate’s experience as a former human resources manager, combined with her legal skills, gives her exceptional insight into the client’s point of view and allows her to provide actionable and reliable guidance. Kate is a reflection of EBG’s continued strategy to add highly skilled attorneys with distinctive experiences. We’re excited to see the immediate impact Kate will bring to the practice and our firm.”
Kate’s arrival follows EBG’s other recent additions to its Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice in Boston, including Gregory Keating, a nationally renowned whistleblower defense attorney, and Francesco DeLuca, who also joined EBG from Ogletree, as well as a group of eight health care and life sciences attorneys in Boston.
