Epstein Becker Green is pleased to announce that Kellie Weisse was awarded the Robert D. Reif Fellowship in Legal Ethics and Professional Values (Fellowship) at a reception held on April 21, 2026.

After a review of the 28 essays submitted on topics involving legal ethics and professional values, five finalists were interviewed.  Kellie Weisse was chosen by the Selection Committee to receive this year’s Fellowship award.  Kellie’s paper was titled “Re-Evaluating Diminished Capacity: Neuroscience, Disability, and the Limits of Model Rule 1.14.”

The Selection Committee would also like to acknowledge and congratulate Jordan Stevenson, selected as the first runner up, whose paper was titled “A Prosecutor’s Ethical Duty to Divert.”  The additional finalists, selected out of this year’s record number of  total submissions, were: Alexandra Arabak, whose paper was titled “Weaponizing Process: Lawfare and the Ethics of Litigation”; Disha Pathak, whose paper was titled “AI, Unauthorized Practice of Law, and the Architecture of Access to Justice”; and Yu-Ning Tsung, whose paper was titled “Structural Ethical Conflicts in US Military Law: Rethinking the Role of the Judge Advocate.”

Epstein Becker Green created the Robert D. Reif Fellowship in 2012 with the assistance of American University Washington College of Law.  The mission of the Fellowship is to honor the memory of Epstein Becker Green’s longtime partner, Bob Reif, by furthering his commitment in the practice of law to maintaining the highest level of ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with clients, fellow attorneys, and the community.
