Overview
Julia Thayer* is dedicated to supporting health care organizations by addressing legal challenges with a thoughtful and solutions-oriented approach.
She assists clients in navigating health care litigation, including government investigations and challenges to administrative actions. Julia draws on her administrative law background to help clients navigate the application of complex federal regulations to their operations.
Dedicated to protecting patient access to care, Julia has a particular focus on state-based policies and initiatives impacting health care, especially legislation involving women’s health, reproductive services, mental and behavioral health services, and end-of-life care. She is also actively involved in Epstein Becker Green’s behavioral health and women’s health initiatives.
During law school, Julia gained valuable experience interning at the Federal Programs Branch of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division, where she assisted in representing the Executive Office of the President, the Cabinet, federal agencies, and departments in civil matters contesting the lawfulness of government action. She also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Rudolph Contreras of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and as a judicial intern for Special Master Thomas L. Gowen at the Office of Special Masters in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, where she worked on disputes arising under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act.
Before starting law school, Julia worked at a health care startup in Toronto, Canada, developing an e-commerce platform to facilitate the efficient procurement of medical devices for clinics during the COVID-19 pandemic.
